ABOUT FANR

Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANR) started at Islamic Azad University, Khorasgan Branch, first in 1987, by establishing two undergraduate programs; namely, Plant Breeding and Agronomy.

At the present time, the faculty offers ten undergraduate programs including, Agronomy, Animal Sciences, Natural Resources & Environmental Sciences, Horticultural Sciences, Soil Sciences, Food Sciences & Technology, Plant Protection, Landscape Architecture, Greenhouse Production, and Water Engineering. FANR also offers seven graduate studies in Plant Breeding, Entomology, Soil Sciences (four majors in Soil Chemistry & Fertility, Soil Genesis & Classification, Soil Physics & Soil Conservation, and Soil Biology & Biotechnology), Agronomy, Food Sciences & Technology, Horticultural Sciences (six majors in Biotechnology & Molecular Genetic in Horticultural Crops, Physiology & Breeding of Medicinal, Spicery & Odor Plants, Physiology & Breeding of Ornamental Plants, Physiology & Breeding of Fruit Trees, Physiology & Breeding of Vegetables, and Postharvest Physiology & Horticultural Products), Animal Sciences (Animal Nutrition, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Animal Physiology). It also offers a PhD program in Soil Sciences in four majors, namely, Soil Chemistry & Fertility, Soil Genesis & Classification, Soil Physics & Soil Conservation, and Soil Biology & Biotechnology.

FANR has 67 faculty members teaching to 2758 students (2027 BS students, 695 MS students, and 36 PhD candidates) and more than 6000 students have been graduated from this faculty so far.
